Nevada Ballet Theatre presented Dracula at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, Reynolds Hall.

Dracula was first created by choreographer Ben Stevenson in 1997 as a production co-commissioned by Houston Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Tulsa Ballet has performed this production twice (most recently in 2012) to sold out audiences. Tulsa Ballet Artistic Director Marcello Angelini says, “Dracula is successful beyond any expectations because every element of the production excels and each and every component complements the other, adding a layer of artistry and entertainment to the show.”
It was a hauntingly unforgettable performance that filled the stage with eerie gothic grandness, from its costumes and sets, to the glorious love triangle at the center of its iconic tale by Ben Stevenson’s Dracula. Set to the music of Franz Liszt, this world of sweeping movement, ingenious stage effects, and dark, rich coloring enveloped you in its haunting world of evil temptation.
The production definitely had the feel of a Broadway show; with it's inspiring stunning theatrics, vampire brides who soar through the air, and an exploding chandelier, just amazing.
Prior to the performance, NBT presented insights, and an educational per-performance discussion that offered patrons an opportunity to further engage with the ballet, with special guests, multi-media presentations and more.
