Two inductees legends Evander Holyfield
and Roberto Duran shared the honor of their induction with former
foes Mike Tyson and Sugar Ray Leonard on Saturday, August 9th at the
Tropicana Hotel.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. was honored as
Nevada Fighter of the Year by the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame at its Annual Induction Ceremony/Dinner. It is the second straight year
Mayweather takes the honor, following his victories over Canelo
Alvarez
in September, 2013, and hard-fought decision over Marcos
Maidana in May, 2014. Mayweather received the honor on the same
night 18 other Inductees were brought into the NVBHOF, and several other
Special Achievement Award winners were honored. The gala event took
place in the Cohiba Ballroom inside the New Tropicana, Las Vegas.
Which included a social hour and silent auction followed by a
delicious dinner and a live aution and special recognitions, honors
throughout the evening.
