THE STRIP SHINES ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AS LAS VEGAS STARS HIT THE STAGE FOR LAS VEGAS’ 8th ANNUAL NF HOPE CONCERT OCTOBER 21 AT THE PALAZZO THEATRE

cid:image003.png@01D44464.71E66550Former “Jersey Boys” Star Jeff Leibow Enlists Entertainers Including All-4-One, Human Nature, Clint Holmes, Earl Turner, MO5AIC, and more to Raise Money for and Awareness of Neurofibromatosis

Las Vegas' most prominent entertainers will take the stage at Las Vegas’ 8th Annual NF Hope Concert on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. at The Palazzo® Las Vegas. Benefit organizers Jeff Leibow, formerly of “Jersey Boys,” and his wife Melody, have once again united the entertainment community bringing together a who's who of Las Vegas performers, including Human Nature, All-4-One, Clint Holmes, Earl Turner, MO5AIC, and many more in an afternoon spectacular to raise money and awareness for the Neurofibromatosis Network, an organization dedicated to families and individuals suffering from Neurofibromatosis (NF), and the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation to support NF families in Southern Nevada.  Tickets start at $49 and can be purchased at any box office at The Venetian or The Palazzo, online at palazzo.com, or by calling 702-414-9000 or 866-641-7469. A limited number of VIP tickets are available by emailing info@nfhope.org.

Since the inaugural event in 2011, the “NF Hope Concert” has grown by leaps and bounds, with more than $625,000 raised for Neurofibromatosis research and advocacy and growing to three cities – Las Vegas, New York City and Chicago. This year’s all-star lineup includes the Grammy® Award-winning R&B Pop group, All-4-One; Las Vegas headliners Human Nature, the Las Vegas debut of Finding Faith featuring Andrew Tierney of Human Nature; award-winning Vegas headliners Clint Holmes and Earl Turner; a cappella sensation MO5AIC; cast members from Cocktail Cabaret; Broadway’s Ava Della Pietra from “School of Rock”; songstress Nicole Pryor with Las Vegas Academy Choir; and Jeff and Melody Leibow with a special guest appearance by daughter Emma; as well as some surprise guests. Consummate emcee, Vegas radio star, and longtime NF Hope supporter, Chet Buchanan, will return to the Palazzo Theatre stage to support Leibow and lend his hosting duties.

Las Vegas music icon, Keith Thompson, will be presented with a special award for his tireless commitment to the NF Hope Concert since its inception.  Thompson will be honored during the afternoon with the distinguished Advocate of Hope award.  Composer Keith Thompson has had a prestigious musical career and his work has received critical acclaim. Musical Director and Conductor credits include The Producers (Las Vegas), the North American premiere of We Will Rock You (Las Vegas), Hairspray (Las Vegas), Cabaret (National Tour with Teri Hatcher and Lea Thompson, Australian Musical Supervisor, Dora Award winner), Mamma Mia (First National Tour), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (with Donny Osmond).  His New York credits include Les Miserables, Tommy, Forbidden Broadway, and When Pigs Fly.  Thompson is currently receiving critical acclaim for Cocktail Cabaret at The Barge in Caesars Palace and the monthly Composer’s Showcase at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

“We are touched every year by the generosity of the patrons who purchase tickets to the concert,” says Jeff Leibow, Director of Development for NF Hope® Concerts and Board of Directors member, Neurofibromatosis Network, “but it is people like Keith Thompson, who invest their time and talent to make it successful that take our breath away.”

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic disorder of the nervous system characterized by tumors that can grow on any nerve in the body without warning. Leibow’s young daughter, Emma, was diagnosed with this condition in 2010 when she was just nine months old. As Leibow and his wife, Melody, learned more about the disorder’s devastating effects, they conceived the idea for the concert with the realization that they had an obligation to both their family and the 128,000 people living with NF to educate others about the disorder. Although it is a common genetic disorder, most people are not aware that one in 2,500 people are born with it making it more common than cystic fibrosis, hereditary muscular dystrophy, Huntington’s disease, and Tay Sachs combined.

Every year, Emma has supplied Leibow and his wife all the inspiration they need to make this event a success, but this year, they have even more to fight for. “Last year, we discovered a complex of tumors in Emma’s leg that carry the threat of becoming an incurable cancer. This year, an annual MRI exposed another tumor on her optic nerve,” said Leibow. “Watching NF affect Emma like this is heartbreaking, and it is why we will continue fighting for her and the NF community.”

Tickets start at $49 and can be purchased at any box office at The Venetian or The Palazzo, online at palazzo.com, or by calling 702-414-9000 or 866-641-7469. A select number of VIP tickets are available.  VIP tickets include exclusive gifts, sponsor recognition and prime seating at the October 21 concert and are available by emailing info@nfhope.org. The NF Hope Concert also features a lavish silent auction including priceless experiences, ticket packages to the top shows on the Strip, hotel stay packages, celebrity experiences, Broadway experiences, restaurant gift certificates, spa certificates, and more. Access to the silent auction begins Wednesday, Oct. 11 via https://nfhopelv.auction-bid.org. The auction will open for viewing at 11:30 a.m. on the day of the event. For more information on NF Hope, visit www.nfhope.org. You can follow NF hope on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The 2018 NF Hope Concert is sponsored by Tito’s Vodka, Findley Toyota, All Western Mortgage, Penta Building Group, and Papillion Grand Canyon Helicopters.

Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at 8 p.m.

Tickets on sale – Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m.

Legendary rock band STYX—Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James “JY” Young (co-founder, vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass), along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo—return to the Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019 at 8 p.m. where they will perform two sets in one night. Tickets start at $49.95 plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m.

After 14 years, STYX’s sonically sweet 16th studio album and its most ambitious, most challenging, and most rewarding album to date, THE MISSION, was finally released June 16, 2017 on the band’s label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe. Now, for the first time ever, STYX will perform the album that critics have called “a masterpiece” in its entirety for the first time as part of a two-act concert event. The second act will feature all of STYX’s classic hits.

“The idea of performing THE MISSION live in its entirety for you is something we’ve envisioned ever since we recorded it,” says guitarist/singer Tommy Shaw. “That time is here! We’ve set the date! And we can’t wait to get our hands on the wheel of that rocket-mobile!”

THE MISSION debuted on various Billboard charts, including: No. 6 Top Rock Albums, No. 11 Physical Albums, No. 11 Vinyl Albums, No. 13 Current Albums, No. 14 Billboard Top Albums, No. 16 Retail, No. 17 Mass Merch/Non-Traditional, No. 29 Digital Albums, and No. 45 Billboard 200 (includes catalog and streaming). A special two-disc reissue of THE MISSION was released on July 27, 2018 via Alpha Dog 2T/UMe, which includes a CD of the original album, as well as a Blu-ray of THE MISSION mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound by singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw and producer Will Evankovich accompanied by stunning visualizations for each of the album’s 14 songs based on the album artwork. Other extras on the Blu-ray include: “The Making of The Mission Documentary” of exclusive interviews of SHAW and Evankovich, four music videos—“Gone Gone Gone” (official video), “Gone Gone Gone” (video created by NASA), “Radio Silence” (lyric video) and “Radio Silence” (live video from Syracuse, NY)—and three hi-res audio playback modes.

The six men comprising STYX have committed to rocking the Paradise together with audiences far and wide by averaging more than 100 shows a year every year since (yes) 1999, and each one of them is committed to making the next show better than the last. Founded in Chicago in 1972, STYX has the unique distinction of being the first band in rock history to have four consecutive certified multimillion-selling albums in a row: 1977’s The Grand Illusion, 1978’s Pieces of Eight, 1979’s Cornerstone, and 1981’s Paradise Theatre.

STYX draws from over four decades of barn burning chart hits, joyous singalongs, and hard-driving deep cuts. Like a symphony that builds to a satisfying crescendo, a STYX set covers a wide range of stylistic cornerstones. From the progressively sweeping splendor that is “The Grand Illusion” to the hunker-down fortitude of all that is the “Blue Collar Man,” from the majestic spiritual love for a special “Lady” to the poignant rumination on the fleeting nature of fame in “Miss America,” from an individual yearning for true connection as a “Man in the Wilderness” to a soul-deep quest to achieve what’s at the heart of one’s personal vision in “Crystal Ball,” from the regal reach-for-the-stars bravado of “Come Sail Away” to the grainy all-in gallop of that rugged “Renegade” who had it made, STYX draws on an unlimited cache of ways to immerse one’s mind and body in their signature sound.

Tickets for STYX are $49.95, $69.95, $79.95 and $129.95, plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 at 10 a.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. and guests under 21 must be accompanied by an adult. Martha Stewart Wine & Food Experience offered great tastings from top Las Vegas Chefs.

This year, USA TODAY, in partnership with MGM Resorts International, brought the 2018 Martha Stewart Wine & Food Experience to the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, featuring the Martha Stewart who led a cooking demonstration using her name-branded pressure cooker to make Cuban black bean salad and flan, in promotion of her new book, Martha Stewart's Pressure Cooker.
"I love teaching," Stewart said in an interview shortly after the demo. "And you can't teach unless you learn, so I'm constantly trying to learn so that I can teach even better."
Besides to seeing Martha herself, guests also got a whole "Martha Stewart Experience," a showcase of all things Martha that included items and interactive activities from her collaborations with Macy's, Michaels, Amazon and QVC; as well as a wine tasting from the Martha Stewart Wine Co., a curated collection of her favorite finds.
While MarthaSte wart was certainly the main draw of this all-encompassing lifestyle event, for most attendees the Grand Tasting was the highlight. Over 30 Las Vegas restaurants with international renown were there serving samples from their menus, including such exceptional places as Bardot Brasserie, Fiamma, Estiatorio Milos, and Rivea serving items like escargot wrapped in puff pastry, grilled Berkshire pork belly, short rib raviolini, New York strip steak with truffle mashed potatoes, grilled octopus, marinated sea bass, and a beet pot de créme. In addition to Stewart, there were a few more celebrity chefs in attendance, such as Michael Mina, Shawn McClain (Libertine Social), and Kim Canteenwalla (Honey Salt). Chefs from Tom Colicchio's Heritage Steak and Le Cirque as well as Las Vegas's DW Bistro and Urban Seed also took to the Culinary Stage with cooking demos of their own. Wine Sponsors included a "Bubbles" booth serving Perrier Jouet and Veuve Clicquot, and another booth was dedicated to the "Rums of Puerto Rico." While onstage, Stewart joked with the audience, "There are so many good restaurants here, so many good things to eat and drink, so go get soused!"
